THE MISSION: The goal of Project FACTS is to help high school students process information that they are consuming online. Project FACTS will help students challenge what they read and see, so they can become more informed citizens.
THE CHALLENGE: According to Pew Research Center, 86% of adults get news from some sort of device--teens even more so. Social media sites do not practice rigorous fact-checking, and it is increasingly important for users to be critical consumers of information.
THE HOPE: Project FACTS will train students to critically engage with content they find online, to better inform dialogue that will build and protect our democracy.
